ELIGIBILITY TO COMPETE
Note about gender eligibility: Mister & Miss Deaf Universe is exclusively open to male-identifying contestants.
Here are the requirements to participate in the Mister & Miss Deaf Universe Contest:
-
All contestants must be at least 18 years old.
-
Eligible contestants can identify as gay, straight, bisexual, non-binary, or transgender, as long as their gender identity matches the category they wish to compete in.
-
Contestants from any country are eligible to compete.
-
Contestants competing for the title of Mister & Miss Deaf Universe must have previously won a title from a bar, state, regional, national, or international contest within the last four (4) years to be eligible to compete for the World title.
-
Contestants competing for the Universe Deaf title in 2020 are not required to have a previous title. We encourage all individuals within the deaf community to participate.
-
During the current Universe Deaf title year reign, contestants are not allowed to hold any other active titles. This means that as of August 27, 2020, you should not represent any current 2019-2020, 2020-2021, or 2022-2023 titles, and you should not have plans to pursue additional titles during the next year if you win one of the Universe Deaf 2023 titles.
These requirements ensure fair competition and an inclusive environment for all participants.
